For Ground Surveys, IES offers different forms of ground surveys depending on the need of the client. Service included in this are data acquisition, data processing and data interpretation. Data Presentation can be done in the field with pseudo sections or thru plan maps. 2D forward modelling and inversion are also done by experienced Geophysicists using the latest modelling software. |

IES utilizes the Zonge system to carry-out its ground surveys. The Zonge system was originally designed in the 1970’s as a multi-channel micro processor based IP system. Through the years Zonge Engineering has consistently upgraded the system to maintain its status as one of the best IP systems in the world.

IES’s Zonge equipment consists primarily of the GDP-32II Multi channel receiver and the GGT-10 10kw or ZT-30 transmitter depending on which survey method is used. The transmitters are synchronized with the GDP-32II by means of the XMT-16 transmitter controller. Both the XMT-16 and the GDP-32 have the same binary 4.98MHz crystal oscillators that are synchronized to frequency and time at the start of each day and may be checked at the end of the day for diurnal drift. The GGT-10 is powered by a ZMG 7.5 generator set. The motor of the generator is an Onan 24hp petrol driven motor that can take in either unleaded or leaded gasoline. The voltage of the generator is regulated at 115 volts and 400Hz with a V1RB voltage regulator unit.

IP Survey :

IES offers ground surveys in the form of IP and resistivity surveys. With the Zonge system, IES has been able to carry out different IP survey methods. An example is the Gradient Array method which is considered as a fast reconnaissance IP method. It can provide close sampling along lines that enables the mapping of narrow resistive and/or chargeable zones. Its main weakness though is that it does not give good depth resolution. IES also does dipole-dipole and pole-dipole methods to provide greater depth and spatial resolution. The 150m dipole-dipole method enables an IP pseudo-section to be constructed using different dipole-dipole positions. This array has an advantage in conductive areas because the dipoles provide a minimum coupling arrangement with the conductive overburden. This technique might be slower method compared to the gradient array but it is best used for giving extra detail on selected lines and/or grids.

To date IES has completed numerous IP survey contracts in different parts of the Philippines. Some companies where IES has finished contracts are Philco Mining, MRL, Red-5, Phelps Dodge, Lafayette, Trans-Asia and many others.
